What can be expected at Sunday's TURTLE event? To listen to Michael H. Shamberg tell it, TURTLE is "an open and chaotic network of diverse but interconnecting ideas, people, projects, events, and venues." The anarchic spirit of 1968 should rule as a wide ranging group of artists come together with their films and performances. Marie Losier will sneak preview her short documentaries on subjects like the band Throbbing Gristle, Jem Cohen and Pierre Clémenti's Revolution X will show with a special performance from New York anti-folk artist Jeffery Lewis, and Festival filmmaker Isild Le Besco (Charly) will introduce her brother's film, Yapo (Honorable Monk). Other confirmed artists include Robert Frank and Chris Marker. If you have any interest in art, culture, and the way that people interpret and tell stories, there will be something to learn at this salon.
