“I didn’t follow you. I went and found you.” Told in real-time, filmmaker Jérôme Bonnell’s Just a Sigh explores a spontaneous affair between Alix, an actress who is on a break between performances, and Doug, who is on his way to attend a friend’s funeral.
Intrigued by this mysterious and sad stranger, Alix follows him (but not before dealing with some personal issues like her wayward boyfriend and flaky sister) and encounters him again at the church. Drawn to each other, the two connect on both a physical and emotional level, reminiscent of Richard Linklater’s Before Sunrise.
